    The Flower before Sunset

    Before leaving you with the main part of the post, let me admit that I am not a poet. I am not good at poetry. However, in a single much unexpected moment which lasted as long as almost 10 minutes, I found this from somewhere inside me. This is completely spontaneous and does not probably stand anywhere near being decent. Nevertheless, I felt I had to post this. So here it goes. Do tell me what you think. I'd appreciate your criticisms. Thank you.

    The Flower before Sunset

    When I have found you,

    My consciousness
    Shall lie to me no more
    .

    This tyranny of nothingness

    Will evanesce into

    A whirlwind of our emotions.

    Together we shall nurture

    Those feelings again!

    Feelings of our antiquity,

    And of that well known pain...

    For when the day has fallen to the night,

    Onwards we must travel;

    Hand in hand,

    Whispers and tender caresses,

    Nervous  kisses,

    For sleep shall come;

    Numbing our senses

    Till we have fallen;

    Yielding forever to slumber.

    And in that sleep

    Lie our separate awakenings,

    Each in its own world,

    Each a melancholy, incomplete,

    Forever expectant

    Petal of emotions.

  • Welcome to my World

    There is a large field in front of me filled with a thousand people. It is only a figment of my imagination and that is very important. Know then, that whatever happens in this space must happen according to the rules I set for this imaginary world of mine. That is our axiom.

    Now a field full of people with no definition or description is hardly any fun. And so I define my people. I hereby lay down the rule that each of the aforementioned thousand people is either a ‘truthful person’ or a ‘liar’. A truthful person when asked a question with binary answering options shall always speak the truth. A liar confronted with a similar situation, shall always avoid the truthful answer.

    Having thus devised my imaginary world, I now step into the field to delight myself by conducting a test of the system, which by axiom, can only be successful. I pick a child at random. It is a little girl. I ask her, “Are you a truthful person or a liar?” If the little girl is indeed a truthful person, she will reply by saying so, since that is the truth. If on the contrary she is a liar, she will deviate from the truth. She will not, therefore, tell me that she is a liar . The only other option left to her is to say that she is a truthful person. Note then, that there can only be one answer to my question irrespective of the category to which the little girl belongs. And that answer is “I am a truthful person”.

    With this knowledge I look at her expectantly, she who is my own creation. The girl stares straight into my eyes, replies, “I am a liar.” And I am thrown forever into a world of delirious make-belief...
